What Is Venetian Plaster?

You may have heard of Venetian plaster before but are probably unsure of how it differs from other types of plaster. Venetian plaster is a technique that has been in use for centuries. Some say even longer.

The story of Venetian plaster has been traced back to thousands of years ago, until it reached Italy and was further refined there, specifically in places such as Pompeii.

Venetian artists and architects in the Renaissance embraced it as both an old and new technique. And that’s when Venetian plaster really began to become fashionable, for both exterior and interior design.

When applied correctly, Venetian plaster becomes rock hard and durable. Mark also offers micro cement finishes which are ideally suited to bathrooms, bench tops and floors.
